Do You Monetize Your Blog?

It might seem like a goofy question but I have come across too many people that think monetizing their blog will cause them to lose their readers.

I quess those that think they will lose their traffic have been looking at blogs that are advertising bulletinboards and not much at the end of blogging really. Those blogs turn me away as well, but that’s not what I referring to.

We need a bit of tact and control when we start monetizing our blogs so that our readers numbers grow and before long we can have a very profitable blog empire of our own.

For me my dreams revolve around my hobbies and next on the buying list, maybe even for Christmas is a bass boat with something cool to haul it.

The first thing you have to commit to is setting aside a minimum of 30 minutes a day where you won’t be disturbed by friends or family. If you can’t commit to that you may as well move on. Otherwise, continue reading.

I love the fact that I can maintain my business in such a short amount of time each day. Why? Well it’s nice to have a job that you only have to work a half hour or so a day, that’s pretty cool. But the real thing for me is that extra time allows me to enjoy my family and my hobbies.

Up until recently I was putting in 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, which isn’t bad for a real world job where you are being paid a salary or hourly rate. It sucks when it’s your own time and you earn diddley squat.

I love my hobbies and writing about them isn’t that tough, unlike some of the niches I have blogs in where I have to get others to write my articles. It’s so much fun earning a living doing what I love.
